There Is No Separate Self

“When we experience the true nature of reality, we see that there is no separate self, no separate ‘me’ or ‘mine.’ Everything is interconnected, and everything arises in dependence upon causes and conditions.” – Pema Chodron

Pema Chodron’s quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of Buddhist philosophy and spirituality. It is a profound reminder that our sense of self, and the idea of separateness that we cling to, is an illusion that causes much of our suffering. Once we come to see the world as an interconnected web of causes and conditions, we can find liberation from this delusion and experience a deeper sense of peace and contentment. This quote invites us to reflect on the nature of our own self-identity and question whether we are really as separate from the world as we often believe ourselves to be.
